If you are reading this, it means you are interested in the origins of UltahBuhVaria and how it came to be.

[U] had originally started as nothing more than a dream for me back when I was in Spak, in [TNT] to be more specific. I was chill in Teamspeak with Caution and me and him were chattin, he was makin a Team deathmatch wad and at that time I was convinced to start one myself. Of course that TDM wad lost the 'team' in it and just became DM, the product of this was my vanilla dm wad, Uptightdm. Not as flashy or popular as other DM's might be, but it was pretty cool at the time for me. However this sparked more interest to actually have a full deathmatch pack.

The letter U actually originated from my job that I work at which is called "Chesapeake Rent All" a party store where you rent party equipment or other various things. But the phone number for our department was "1-800-HEY-U-RENT" which the U grabbed my attention. I had done some looking on the Clan abyss files and found no [U] clan to have been made, so I sat for a while and thought of a name that was so unique and was never used before. Then came the idea of "The Land of UltahBuhVaria" as the full name, originally I had googled 'UltahBuhVaria' and not a single thing came up for it and thats when I decided that this name was perfect.

Now around this time, a lot of clans were coming up with packs and maps of their own. MS had their MSDuel set, MLK had been working on their CTF pack, and proctf had just made a full release not too long ago. So then I started to play with the idea of making a clan for the sole purpose of creating a Deathmatch wad, this idea popped into my head shortly before joining [X]. While in [X] I was building for them a XHQ remastered wad (because the original one wasn't all that visually appealing) until I suddenly stopped 3% of it in because of some issues I was having. But during the creation of said wad, I played more with the idea of starting my own clan, one with players that are as good if not better than me which seemed even more like a good idea.

After about a month in [X] I finally decided to drop the X tag and in place I put [U], but I did not set up a clan thread on the Skulltag forums just yet, I was going to wait for people first. Of course this waiting period lasted a long time, for about 2 weeks, so I just decided to make the clan thread anyway and instead declare it to be a one-man clan for a while. Luckily I was proven wrong in the next week! Tooter and Creed had joined [U] shortly after the thread's creation, which led us to having our first scrim against <MLK>. The scrim resulted in a [U] victory, a good one at that, but the scrim afterwards is what threw us off. Soon after <MLK> left the server, [A3] wanted a go and so we were more than happy to oblige, we did a smashing job our first round, bombed the second, and pulled a 'last stand' so to speak the final round. Unfortunately we still had lost 2 - 1 but I couldn't be more proud of the fact I had actually a clan TO be proud of.

Unfortunately things did not go peachy afterwards, Swiftshot who was supposedly going to leave PRO and join up with [U], instead decided to revive -CE- with Nevan. Even though I was okay with it, I secretly wasn't because of the fact I wanted [U] to have a large professional playerbase, and feeding off <PRO> was what was going to fuel it. But in the end I decided it was okay, I couldn't keep all that talent locked up to myself I guessed, especially since I can't be as good as -CE-'s best lineup (Shadowforce, Gyrossman, Nevanos). A short time after -CE-'s revival, Tooter had left [U] to go and revive another dead clan =MB= which then caused Creed to leave and join [X] because he knew [U] wouldn't go anywhere anytime soon. Before Creed left, I had talked to Godlike(InFamouS) in a duel server, and he said if PRO would die down anymore that he'd join [U], of course this wasn't the case for he had went to join -CE-.

I had all but given up hope once again, back down to one-man power and trying to keep myself together. One weekend, I had received a pm from Mathayus (former clanmate with me in X, cool guy) and he had told me he was searching for me a whole week to try and join [U]. During said week was when my monitor had gone up and kept blacking out because of some weird power issue. This resulted in Mathayus going for [I] instead, even though he was willing to leave and join [U] once again I told him he can stay in [I] so atleast he can have fun and do scrims still, it didn't bother me.

Then led to our first incident, one day I was chilling in the [U] recruitment server when a player named "qqqqqqq" had joined, asking to join [U]. Of course I didn't believe this person was a actual player looking to join [U] so I asked who he was aliasing as. Well he told me he was "XSnake" now being the smart ZDaemon person I am, I knew for a fact that XSnake was infact not American (he had ping of 30) and was not looking for a clan. Well he knew that plan backfired so instead he told me he was "MikeHail" now again, I knew for a fact that it wasn't Mike, because Mike doesn't live anywhere near the East Coast and pings that well. A short talk with Cyber, and we quickly determined it was Mobius. The idea Mobius had was to join [U] and 'help' them beat [A3] so he can receive a ego-booster for himself. Well he had his wish, I allowed him into [U] but luckily the greatest thing happened afterwards, I collaborated with SwiftShot and Cyber to have them both alias into my clan and cause Mobius to be a bench-warmer. And it worked, we held our own against A3 on their best map (Map20) and tied with flags but surpassed with frags. Now you might be asking yourself "Is this against the rules?" well in short, no it wasn't, it wasn't even a true scrim. Mobius had already aliased into [U] and was expecting a scrim where he'd beat [A3] and show everyone he's the best. But he failed in doing so, and that was the most important part.

After that, things started to shape up for [U], Iceykiller who left [X] recently out of spiteful reasons, and joined up with the crew. His loyalty is what I rely in mostly for this player, even though he knew [U] wouldn't get a lot of members he still stuck around. And he is a excellent player to boot, which is a bonus for me! He also assured me that we would try and get Mathayus into [U] since him, Icey and me are all good friends and would be a great team together.

A week after Iceykiller's addition to [U] I was chillin in the recruitment server (as usual) when a familiar player joined, Feldspar. Now before I had seen Feldspar a couple of times and witnessed his aiming prowess, and it was pretty damn good. And not only that he asked me if he could join [U], well being the me that I am, I was all skittish and happy that another good player would be added to the roster so without hesitation I told him yes. However after a week of having him, I hadn't seen him in IRC like I told him to do the whole time, which made me suspect him. Until one day he finally snapped, him and Iceykiller were duelin in Doom2 map01 when he just kept complaining over all the little thing, I reported this to Cyber and we began to suspect it was Tenchu. So I grabbed the IP, we checked the regions, and they both were a Michigan, Baltimore IP, and I knew then that this was just too good to be true. Needless to say Feldspar was kicked from [U] and banned from ST.

After this, I had resumed hanging out in the [U] recruit server, looking for possible candidates when both Iceykiller and Cyber came to sit and chat with me. After a long discussion I had declared that I wanted to kill [U] for the time being until the clan scene died down and more potential players were roaming around. I was going to reside in -CE- for the time being (since I had received invitation from them on multiple occasions) and wait for my moment. Needless to say but Cyber and Iceykiller talked me into not killing [U] and instead they convinced me that the best way I can help to bolster [U] itself is to remove the skill requirement of needing to be "better than me" and I did exactly what they asked, removed it. This allowed in a whole flow of players, WoodPecker, Artega, Spider, which resulted in me getting even more angry at the fact that my clan had turned out the way it was really meant to be. Soon dissipated my care-free attitude and it was replaced with a harsh and impatient leader, I do not favor this time at all for I know I could have handled the situation better. But unfortunately stuff just wasn't going my way that entire month and I was pretty fed up with how everything turned out to be.

Which leads us to today, hopefully by the time you read this part of the paragraph, [U] is still thriving and has a healthy playerbase. Hopefully. But thats what happened for UltahBuhVaria at it's humble beginnings!
